Fontana, California
Fontana Area Recreation
Fontana is the perfect place for residents from all walks of life to live, work—and play! Easy access to the city through four major arteries (I-10 San Bernardino Freeway, I-15 Ontario Freeway, Foothill Boulevard/Historic U.S. Route 66, and 210 Foothill Freeway) allow Fontana residents to enjoy all that the city has to offer, but come home to a slower pace, lower cost of living and community spirit of suburban living.
Fontana Area Nature and Parks
One of the strongest draws of the Inland Empire region
of California is the diversity of nature found here. The striking San Jose
Hills form a physical border running from west to east between the Inland
Empire region and greater Los Angeles, separating the San Gabriel Valley from
the Pomona Valley. This geographic division prompted the settlement of the San
Bernardino Valley’s urban communities. Running from the south to the north,
Orange County and San Bernardino/Riverside Counties are geographically
separated by the majesty of the Santa Ana Mountains. Riverside and San Diego
Counties are divided by both the Santa Rosa
Mountains and the southern portion of the Sonoran
Desert. Outdoor enthusiasts can experience the vastness of what our
landscape has to offer here—from below sea level at the Salton Sea, ascending all the
way up to 11,499 feet at the summit of the San
Gorgonio Mountain! Residents can hike the mountains, contemplate the tranquil
desert beauty of Joshua Tree National Park,
sunbathe on the sparkling
Pacific beaches, lose themselves in the trees of the San Bernardino National Forest, take a
swim in Big Bear Lake, or kayak along the
Santa Ana River—all in
the same day, without having to spend hours driving! Fontana is close to all of
these luxuries—but has the luxury of being away from it all, too!
